with Bristol Symphony Orchestra, we bring you...

Ragtime and Rumba

A short lively interactive programme of dances, rags, jigs and stomps aimed at children from 3-8 years and their families with players from Bristol Symphony Orchestra, this time introducing wind and brass!


Clap samba rhythms!
Play an instrument  (this year with wind and brass)
Conduct the orchestra and sit amongst them as they play!

Musical Director:  Heather Walters
Heather is a cellist and singer and teaches voice and 'cello for North Somerset. She is also a music therapist and is currently writing an exciting collaborative pilot project on music and well-being for year 7s.


“I am delighted to have been asked back by BriSO to do a follow-up children's concert. There was a such a buzz of musical excitement last year and we got about 80 children trying out an instrument which was brilliant! The BriSO players were fantastic as was our audience – I can't wait to do it again!”
