Bristol Symphony Orchestra in 2020

Well what a year 2019 has been for Bristol Symphony Orchestra. We collaborated with the incredible Dakhla for our summer concert, had a commissioned percussion concerto by our conductor William Goodchild performed by rising star Harriet Riley, whilst raising money for the British Heart Foundation and Above and Beyond.

We also have said goodbye to our founding conductor, William Goodchild, who had led us from the beginning and whose leadership has helped create our reputation for original programmes, creativity and collaboration. We are grateful to Will and his wife Rachel for the work they put into making BrisSO what it is today and for the legacy you have left us. Thank you to both of you.

With all change comes something new, and we are excited to announce that we have a new interim conductor in place. Please welcome Dave Ransom! Dave has played principal horn in BriSO since the beginning, and we are delighted that he's moving to the front of the orchestra to lead us into our next stage.

Merry Christmas and a very happy new year to all of our supporters and players.

We look forward to seeing you at our next concert on Saturday 28th March at Clifton Cathedral.
